Formula E Evo Session - Who Are The Drivers?

11 popular figures will be in the cockpit of Formula E cars next week. 

With the Chiang Mai, Thailand ePrix having been cancelled as a result of political unrest, Formula E had to get creative filling the otherwise two months long break between races. They came up with a very unique idea:

Formula E Evo Session. What is that, you may ask?

Location: Miami International Autodrome

Date: 5th–6th March 2025

This unique event places well-known personalities into the cockpits of the cutting-edge Formula E Gen3 Evo cars, giving them first-hand experience of what it takes to compete at the highest level of electric motorsport. Each participant will be paired with a professional Formula E driver, who will mentor them through the intricacies of the sport—both physically and mentally.

But who are these lucky individuals who get to drive these incredible machines? 

Let’s take a closer look at the participants and their racing mentors:

The Confirmed Line-Up

Emelia Hartford (aka @ms.emelia) – Maserati with Stoffel Vandoorne

Actress and Record-Breaking Car Builder (USA)

Hartford is an automotive content creator, best recognised for her custom-built performance cars. She shot to fame after modifying a Corvette C8 into one of the world’s fastest custom versions and later shattered the quarter-mile record for the Nissan Z in December 2024.

Sergio Agüero – Porsche with Pascal Wehrlein

Football Icon (Argentina)

The former Manchester City, Atlético Madrid, and Argentina national team striker has swapped his football boots for a racing helmet. Retired from professional football, Agüero is no stranger to competition, and he’ll be under the expert guidance of reigning Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein.

Tom Felton – Envision Racing with Sébastien Buemi ( & Alice Powell)

Actor (UK)

Best known for playing Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise, Felton is stepping into the world of motorsport. He’ll be mentored by Formula E driver Sébastien Buemi and Envision's development driver Alice Powell.

Vinnie Hacker – DS Penske with Maximilian Günther

Model, Content Creator & Esports Enthusiast (USA)

A model, content creator, streamer and social media personality with a large online following. Formula E described him as a ‘multi-hyphenate creative’, a fitting title given his diverse pursuits in modelling, Instagram, TikTok, acting, and Esports.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham - Jaguar tcs Racing with Mitch Evans

Entrepreneur (UK)

The son of football legend David Beckham and pop icon Victoria Beckham, Brooklyn has dabbled in modelling, photography, and cooking.

His latest venture, Cloud 23 hot sauce. Now, he’s taking on Formula E with Jaguar tcs Racing’s Mitch Evans.

Cleo Abram – NEOM McLaren with Sam Bird

Tech Journalist & Content Creator (USA)

Abram is a video journalist with a focus on technology, producing engaging educational content on platforms like YouTube and Instagram. She even made a video explaining Formula E two years ago, titled The Electric Formula 1, Explained. Now, she’ll get to experience the newest generation of these cars from behind the wheel.

Supercar Blondie – Nissan with Norman Nato

Automotive Creator (Australia)

Alexandra Mary Hirischi aka Supercar Blondie is a recognised automotive content creator. Supercar Blondie has built a career around showcasing the most extravagant and high-tech vehicles on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.

Theo Baker - Mahindra with Nyck De Vries

YouTuber & Footballer (UK)

Theo Baker is a football content creator who played for Hashtag United in the past. He posts about football-related content on his YouTube channel.

Driver 61 - LOLA Yamaha ABT with Zane Maloney

Ex-Professional Driver, Racing Instructor & Content Creator (UK)

Driver 61 (aka Scott Mansell) is a motorsport educator who produces content on racing techniques, performance driving etc. In the past he used to compete in FIA Masters Historic Sports Car Championship, Indy Lights, European F3000 to name a few. He actually drove a Formula E car already! Plus he has done multiple educational videos covering Formula E on his YouTube channel too.

Ammar Kandil (co-founder of Yes Theory) - Andretti with Nico Müller (and Jake Dennis)

YouTuber (Egypt)

Yes Theory has built their brand on embracing the unknown and pushing past perceived limitations. From climbing uncharted pyramids to training with endurance athletes and bungee jumping over the Grand Canyon. Their mission: to break barriers. Now, one of their members Ammar gets to experience the thrill of driving the fastest accelerating car in the world in collaboration with Andretti Formula E.

JUCA - CUPRA KIRO Race Co. with Dan Ticktum (and David Beckmann)

YouTuber (Mexico)

A popular social media figure who creates YouTube videos centred around driving and testing a variety of cars.

British actor Lucien Laviscount, best known for his role in Netflix’s Emily in Paris, was also supposed to participate in the Evo Sessions. Formula E, however, announced that his participation fell through, as he landed a new role and had to be on set filming. He was supposed to drive for Mahindra but was then replaced by Theo Baker.
